BRADY-AR is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, heart-worm & tick disease tested negative (4dx), de-wormed and micro-chipped. He has an estimated date of birth of 24th November 2014.
BRADY-AR was adopted back in January 2014 and became a wonderful member of the family. However, the family are in a situation where they are no longer to keep BRADY and so on 11 February 2021 he was brought back. The family was really upset, but it was what they had to do.
BRADY-AR was of course initially stressed coming in to meet all the dogs, but it didn't take hi long to settle in and charge around outside playing, running and exploring. BRADYs family have completed an in-depth owner surrender form that will be shared with his paperwork. They did say that he does have allergies that is treated with Benydrl, at the time of writing, I have not yet get the veterinarian records to see if there is more information. They said he doesn't know his own size and can be rough with smaller dogs. He is very friendly with other dogs and gets excited when he see's other dogs as he wants to go and play. They said he is house-trained and will pace and go to the window when he wants to go out, he is very playful, tug being one of his favourite games and he is very intelligent knowing the names of toys. BRADY-AR weighs around 90 pounds.
He does have an unusual habit of grunting/growling when someone pets him, and was discussed with the vet and they believe it is just him communicating, as he has never been aggressive.
Brady is a big STRONG boy and so it is important the family have the activity level, lifestyle, time to commit and strength for a big dog like him. He is only 6 years old and so still an active boy.
Brady is available for adoption for an adoption fee of $550. If interested please go to the rescue website "Forms/Applications" to complete and submit our adoption application.
Original Bio Before Adoption in 2017
BRADY originally came from a high kill shelter in Texas where dogs generally have just 3 days to be saved before they are killed due to the thousands of stray dogs that sadly are in desperate need of life of the streets and ultimately a home of their own. We do NOT have cats at the rescue so cannot comment on how she would behave around cats.

BRADY would benefit from an active, fun family that has the time to work with him on his obedience and manners, who would take him on adventures and road trips and let him explore the sights, sounds and smells the world has to offer.

We currently feed SPORTMIX Wholesomes Chicken Meal & Rice Formula, a 4* (a per GRAIN FREE food along with pro-bioitics and immune support supplements listed on the available dogs page!

BRADY is available for adoption through Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue for an adoption fee of $550. This fee is not negotiable and is used to cover the rescue costs of pulling, vetting, health certificate, transport from Texas to Maine, monthly preventatives, supplements, food and anything else that is needed.

If you feel that you have the heart and home to give this handsome boy a wonderful life, please go to our website, under the APPLICATION tab, complete, then submit the APPLICATION. Our process takes around 2-4 days, and ensuring your references are aware that we will be calling, could speed up the process. Once you have been approved, we discuss any questions in regards to the dog you are wanting to adopt, then you complete and submit the contract, make payment and then we can work out the pick up / transport arrangements.

Please do NOT submit an application if you are not looking to take home a new best friend within the next few weeks.

BRADY is located at the rescue in Sebec, Maine. We post in various states along the east coast and Canada where we have had lots of successful adoptions to enable more exposure for these beautiful saved souls. Families will need to be prepared to travel to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. There is a local hotel in Dover-Foxcroft that is pet-friendly (approx 6 miles) and several in Bangor (approx 45 miles). There are also lots of wonderful camp-sites for the more adventurous families and what a great way to get to know your new best friend. If there are options to arrange transport, we will work with you to make it happen.
