CHARLOTTE was transferred from a rescue in West Texas to GaDaH. Charlotte is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, lepto, heartworm and tick disease tested negative, is on monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention, microchipped and at the time of transfer in May 2020 weighed around 41 pounds. She has an estimated date of birth of 4 November 2019.  We have no way of knowing the exact breed, it is up to individuals to decide what breed they think is most likely.

Charlotte is currently living in a communal area with other small, medium and large sized dogs and puppies and has been doing great. She is shy at first and tends to stand back and watch what is going on, before she decides to come up and see. They have a lot of space to run, chase and play and burn off some of the energy that he has. She is a very sweet girl, very loving and affectionate once she has gained trust, which still being young with the right family and being patience will not take long, and with an active family would be a lot of fun.

Charlotte has access to a large enclosed in area, which is accessed through a dog door. We are not able to say if she is house-trained other than that, so we expect families to be prepared to work on housetraining whilst he transitions to her new home, life and family.

Charlotte is an energetic young girl who is bursting with energy and so we are looking for an active family that will take her on walks, road trips and adventures so she can enjoy what the world has to offer. As with all new dogs Charlotte does need to be trained and it is beneficial for both her and her new family to do basic training at home, so personalities, body language and mannerisms can be learnt from each other, boundaries and rules set for her.  Training classes are encouraged for socialization also. Since being at the rescue Charlotte has not been exposed to cats or livestock so we are unable to say how she would be around them.

All dogs are fed  Rachael Ray Nutrish PEAK Natural Dry Dog Food, Grain Free Western Grasslands Recipe with Bison. Rachael Ray Nutrish Peak Dog Food receives the Dog Food Advisor’s second-highest tier rating of 4.5 stars.

Charlotte is available for adoption from Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue, located in Sebec, Maine for an adoption fee of $550. Families MUST travel to the rescue in Sebec, Maine for meet and greet at time of adoption

If you feel that you have the heart and home to give this precious soul a wonderful life, please go to our website, under the APPLICATION tab, complete, then submit the APPLICATION. Our process takes around 2-4 days, and ensuring your references are aware that we will be calling, could speed up the process. Once you have been approved, we discuss any questions in regards to the dog you are wanting to adopt, then you complete and submit the contract, make payment and then we can work out the pick up / transport arrangements.

Please do NOT submit an application if you are not looking to take home a new best friend within the next few weeks.

Canadian adopters need to know that customs charge 15% taxes when entering into Canada. This fee is not negotiable and is used to cover the rescue costs of pulling, vetting, health certificate, transport from Texas to Maine, monthly preventatives, supplements, food and anything else that is needed.

ALL Dogs are LOCATED AT THE RESCUE IN SEBEC, MAINE.  We post in various states along the east coast and Canada where we have had lots of successful adoptions to enable more exposure for these beautiful saved souls. Families will need to be prepared to travel to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Sebec is located just outside the towns of Dover-Foxcroft and Milo (approx 8 miles) and approx 45 miles from Bangor. There are also lots of hotels, motels, pet friendly accommodations  and wonderful camp-sites for the more adventurous families and what a great way to get to know your new best friend.
