MAJOR
MAJOR was saved from San Antonio Animal Care Services the day before he was due to be killed. MAJOR was suffering from demodex mange, which is none contagious and has been treated. MAJOR does still have sore feet, but is doing great and will be back to great health in no time. Due to the mange and his hair follicles being damaged or falling out his coat is in need of good nutrition. It will most probably take a year for it to come back as it should, but he is doing wonderfully. MAJOR when he first came to the pack was a little unsure how to behave with the other dogs and so he was very vocal. After spending time with them he is learning that he doesn't have to "shout" all the time and that playing is much more fun. MAJOR can be a it of a bully when he doesn't know what to do, but he is put in his place and he is learning how to behave with the other dogs - he is not aggressive just not really sure what to do. MAJOR LOVES to play, he loves fetch and any game involving toys and he will often be found playing on his own throwing up a toy and catching it. MAJOR needs an active family that understands the German Shepherd / Working breed mentality. He needs a family that will take a strong alpha role and one that gives him the much needed MENTAL and PHYSICAL exercise to stimulate both mind and body to keep him out of mischief. With a good family, guidance and lots of love, MAJOR will be a wonderful addition to any family - he has so much love to give and has now started to come up and give me kisses. MAJOR is available for adoption from Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue, we are located in Devine, TX. We are NOT a shelter and do not have people coming to see the dogs, please refer to our website for our adoption process and application. MAJOR is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, microchipped and heart-worm negative. GaDaH does allow out of state adoptions, however, we require the family to travel to San Antonio to spend time with the dog to be sure that a perfect match is met before traveling home together. MAJOR's adoption donation is $300 |
