PLEASE ENSURE YOU READ ALL THE INFORMATION PROVIDED TO LEARN ALL ABOUT JOANIE, HER LOCATION AND ADOPTION OPTIONS.
JOANIE is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, Heartworm and tick disease tested negative, de-wormed and micro-chipped. She has an estimated date of birth of 18 December 2014 and a weight of around 37 pounds.
Notes from her foster family:
Joanie is a calm and sweet girl. Loves attention. Paws for more. Good on leash and potty trained. Good with smaller dogs.
JOANIE we think could be a German Shepherd / Collie mix. Both of these breeds are from the herding family and are extremely intelligent. JOANIE will need a family that understands not only the physical needs of a young dog, but also the mental stimulation that is required. Throwing a ball in the back yard is not enough for these dogs, they need to be challenged mentally to keep their brain active, which will ensure a happy dog.
As noted by her foster family she is good on a leash and so could have some training, however, her new family will need to re-establish any training and work on advanced obedience also. We encourage families to train their dogs so that both dog and family can learn expectations and boundaries, whilst learning each others body language and personalities much more creating a stronger understanding and bond.
JOANIE would love a family that goes takes her on road-trips and adventures, letting her explore the sights, smells and sounds the world has to offer. JOANIE does ride good in the car.
JOANIE is available for adoption through Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue for an adoption fee of $450. This fee is not negotiable and is used to cover the rescue costs of pulling, vetting, health certificate, transport from Texas to Maine, monthly preventatives, supplements, food and anything else that is needed.
