Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue works hard to save as many GSD / GSD mixes as we can. All dogs that we save live inside alongside ZENA, ZEUS, ZARA, SERGEANT, RAIN & DIANA (two parvo survivors).
Most dogs that we save are sick, injured, under nourished and more times than not need extensive medical care. This does not deter us, as we know, without us, they would probably be looked over and KILLED.
Aside from vet bills, we supply good, treats, toys, crates, beds, monthly heart-worm prevention, monthly flea/tick prevention, immune support supplements, and food, leashes, collars. We attend adoption events, we take the dogs to and from vets appointments, home visits, meet and greets, and everything adds up, and makes saving these special dogs expensive. We are not complaining, as we know we have the wonderful support and dedication from people who help in many ways, but as with all charitable work there is always a need for more.
Before you donate, please learn about our rescue, learn about our values, our mission, the way we work, and how we achieve what we do. Look at the dogs that we have saved, and you will be amazed that all of these dogs have lived with one person, and with the help of friends and animal lovers, in many ways, has literally changed the lives of so many sick and injured dogs.
Just a few of the things we have had performed in the first year:
Spinal Tap Surgery (treatment for neurological distemper) Rear leg amputation; Femoral Head Ostectomy (FHO - hip dysplasia and arthritis surgery; they remove the infected ball joint); Broken legs; Heart-worm treatment; Distemper (treatment with the NVD serum in the mucus phase); Parvo (we have treated several pups with plasma); pneumonia; Kennel Cough; Severe cases pf Demodex Mange and Sarcoptic Mange; Severe skin infections; Upper respiratory Infections (URI); Special Needs Puppies that have been very badly abused; and of course, the day to day sickness's that dogs and puppies get.
We are proud of what we have achieved, but take no credit, as this truly is a "PACK" accomplishment. Without YOUR help, be it adopting, monetary donations, item donations, or just your support, we could not continue to save these magnificent, intelligent, loyal, devoted K9s.
