AGGIE was saved from GARLAND Animal Shelter on 12th March 2015.
She had been an owner surrender and was scared out of her mind not having any idea why she was being dumped in a place that smelt of fear, death and disease.
The shelter staff labelled her as 'Fearful Aggressive' and she was scheduled to be killed. When our volunteer went to pick her up to bring her to the safety of the rescue she said she almost jumped in her arms wanting to get out of that shelter.
AGGIE was initially over-whelmed when she got to the rescue, but after a few days her confidence gained and she is now more than happy walking amongst all of the other rescue dogs and running in-between their legs and quite often instigating play with both big and small dogs.
AGGIE is very agile and can jump up on a bed that is 4 mattress high, she sleeps as close to me as she can and she is extremely loving and affectionate. She is a very smart girl and has been a very quick learner and would be a great joy to train properly.
AGGIE was initially fearful of strangers, however, with time and meeting some great friends, she is hapy to meet people and if possibly jump up on their la, or in their arms and sit their happy soaking up all the love and affection.
AGGIE did have her eye pop out -and the vet recommended amputation since that she would no longer have sight in that eye and infection would be a constant problem. She has done great with just one eye and has not deterred her in any way.
AGGIE would make a GREAT lap pet, or companion for someone who wants constant love and affection to a beautiful soul that has been not had a good start to life.
AGGIE is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, de-wormed, heart-worm tested negative and micro-chipped. She has an estimated age of 3 years and at the time of rescue weighed 13.80 pounds.
AGGIE is available for adoption through Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue for an adoption fee of $350. AGGIE is currently located at the rescue in Sebec, Maine, however, we post in states along the east coast where transport is available.this gives our precious saved souls more exposure and once adopted, we are able to save more dogs from the kill shelters in Texas that get 3 days before they are killed.
If you are interested in adopting this precious girl and giving her the life she needs and deserves our application can be completed and submitted on our website under the APPLICATION tab, http://www.giveadogahome-sanantonio.org/application.html

We love it when families can take a trip to meet the dogs before taking them home, but understand this is not always possible and so work in arranging transport to or closer to families homes. This can come at an additional cost, generally between $100 - $150 and is paid directly to the transport.
