Give a Dog a Home - San Antonio German Shepherd Dog Rescue

Give a Dog a Home – San Antonio (GaDaH) is a home based German Shepherd Rescue, whose ultimate aim is in helping to save the lives of homeless, and abandoned German Shepherd Dogs throughout the city of San Antonio and surrounding areas. Animals mainly come from local KILL shelters, or strays found aimlessly wandering the streets, starving, scared and homeless.

Give a Dog a Home – San Antonio strongly supports spay and neutering programs, and works with other organizations to promote, and provide education on spay/neuter programs, heartworm preventative, general animal care, and other necessary programs.

“Give a Dog a Home – San Antonio” animals are examined by "Callaghan Road Animal Hospital," spayed/neutered; micro chipped; given rabies vaccination; any other required vaccinations; Heartworm tested; and receive all required medical treatment to ensure they are healthy, both physically and mentally, before they are placed in carefully screened homes.

Treatment and care has left us with a HUGE Vet Debt, that in order to continue saving lives we need to clear it off. We are almost half way there - PLEASE help us reach our goal of ZERO Vet Debt?

These precious souls within a month of each other did not win the fight to parvo / distemper. We did everything we could including hospitalization, plasma transfusion, spinal tap surgery and all our love, hopes and prayers - but sadly it was not enough. R.I.P my sweet puppies.

LOOK at these special, socialised pups, just HOPING someone will fall in love with them and give them a perfect home - yes they are having fun living in the pack, but they don't get much one on one attention, and they deserve to be able to give, and receive so much more love and affection.

GaDaH's
FIRST ADOPTION
27th May 2011

This little black puppy, was saved from ACS on 14th February 2011, along with his sister and 3 brothers. All had distemper, and not long after this photograph was taken AKIRA (R.I.P) died of advanced pneumonia, a secondary infection to distemper.

Thankfully TANK did not develop with the neurological phase and is living a happy healthy life with his amazing, dedicated, passionate, loving family.

TOMORROW - 27th May 2012, will be ONE YEAR since TANK was officially adopted, we had done an extended foster period for over a month, so that should TANK get sick, GaDaH could arrange for his medical care and the spinal tap, so he was with the family longer than that, however GaDaH's FIRST OFFICIAL ADOPTION was ONE YEAR AGO tomorrow.
